Our Story

We have spent nearly two decades crashing, destroying kites,

and getting dragged down the beach so you don’t have to!

The seed of Kelsick kiteboarding started back in 2002 when Jake’s dad Russell got hooked on flying. He was one of the main windsurfers on the island and quickly converted over to kiteboarding after some of his core windsurf friends got the bug. You needed less gear and less wind which lead to a lot more fun and time on the water.

Jake got into kiteboarding in 2003 at 10 years old and a year later his main goal in life was to become a full-time kiteboarder! He spent the rest of his teen and adult years making that dream a reality by learning every aspect of the sport.

Jake along with his life partner Megan Kelsick started KKB with the goal of inspiring others to find their passion for being in the ocean and living an active and healthy lifestyle.

Jake Kelsick – CoFounder & Pro Coach

Born & raised in Antigua, Jake has been soaking up sunshine and eating an ocean full of fun for breakfast from the start. Jake’s main obsessions are free-riding & hydrofoiling, but, when he’s not doing that, you can usually find him behind the lens snapping shots of people getting stoked. If you want to learn how to shred island styles or take that perfect shot, Jake is your guy.

Megan Kelsick – CoFounder & Pro Coach

Megan was born and raised on the south coast of England where she spent her early days on the ocean sailing with her dad. While spending six months sailing the entire Caribbean with her family, Megan picked up a lifelong connection to the ocean and the outdoors. She moved to Antigua in 2013 and got addicted to kiteboarding not too long after that. These days she’s all about sharing the stoke, learning new tricks and hydrofoiling!

Russell Kelsick  – The OG Local Shredder

Russell was born and raised in Antigua and grew up shredding in any way he could. It started with motorbikes in the early days, then became windsurfing, and has been all about kitesurfing since the 2000’s. He is usually the first one out and the last one in. If you are looking for a marathon session, he is your guy! He is an absolute junky for kite foil missions!
